” A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.
A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master…”
― Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love
I can say that I found so many paragraphs in this book that made me rethink things and so many others that I read and reread thinking: “OMG, this is so true!”

When the movie came out I organised a girls night in along with my fellow single girls. Binge eating crisps and popcorn, chocolate and jellies, drinking tons of wine and laughing out loud at some amazing Julia Roberts scenes.
Needless to say that we all proclaimed “Eat, pray, love” our new favourite movie and spoke about it for months.
Because I am a proper book nerd I always think that a book is far better than the movie so you can all imagine my expectations when I finally decided on reading “Eat, pray, love”. I thought it will make me forever fall in love with every page.
“You’re wishin’ too much, baby. You gotta stop wearing your wishbone where your backbone oughtta be.”

Halfway through the book I am sorry to say that I couldn’t literally connect with it in any way. I have decided to put it on the side for a while and get back to it another time.
Some quotes are so beautiful and they speak to me. However the rest of it was just a story that I wasn’t feeling in any way .
If you decide to give it a try you can find it on Amazon both new and used, kindle, paperback or audiobook and also in Waterstones, WHSmith and most probably in charity shops and markets if you love having a wonder around discovering lost treasures.
I will not rate this book as I really want to go back to it and finish it
