Summer seems to finally take over UK and my energy levels spiked up. I tried and managed to get a bit more me time lately to catch up on my writing and my reading as well. I still have three book reviews to publish but somehow I thought it would be better to just give you some ideas for new books that are being released this June.
I selected only few as there are just so many and I wouldn’t want to bore. So here are the ones I want to definitely get my hands on and start enjoying
MRS EVERYTHING by Jennifer Weiner
The #1 New York Times bestselling author of Who Do You Love and In Her Shoes, brings a smart, thoughtful, and timely exploration of two sisters’ lives from the 1950s to the present as they struggle to find their places—and be true to themselves—in a rapidly evolving world. Mrs. Everything is an ambitious, richly textured journey through history—and her story—as these two sisters navigate a changing America over the course of their lives.
CITY OF GIRLS by Elizabeth Gilbert
This is one book I already have on my Kindle and will come next on my list. It is one delicious novel of glamour, sex, and adventure, about a young woman discovering that you don’t have to be a good girl to be a good person.
Life is both fleeting and dangerous, and there is no point in denying yourself pleasure, or being anything other than what you are.
City of girls is a unique love story set in the New York City theater world during the 1940s. Told from the perspective of an older woman as she looks back on her youth with both pleasure and regret (but mostly pleasure), City of Girls explores themes of female sexuality and promiscuity, as well as the idiosyncrasies of true love.
I’LL NEVER TELL by Abigail Haas
For fans of the New York Times bestseller One of Us Is Lying comes a page-turning crime novel with a shocking twist, inspired by the Amanda Knox and Natalee Holloway cases.
Friends for life. Or death.
Spring break. Aruba.
Swimming, sunshine, and golden beaches. It was supposed to be the best time of Anna’s life. Paradise. But then the unthinkable happens. Anna’s best friend is found brutally murdered. And when the local police begin to investigate the gruesome crime, suspicion falls on one person—Anna.
And when the truth is finally revealed, it’s more shocking than anyone could have imagined…
THE FIRST MISTAKE by Sandie Jones
From Sandie Jones, the author of the Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine Book Club Pick and New York Times bestseller The Other Woman, comes an addictively readable new domestic suspense about a wife, her husband, and the woman who is supposedly her best friend.
Sandie’s books got me hooked from page one and I will definitely get my hands on a copy and sip a cocktail by the beach while reading such a gripping story that “The First Mistake” is announced to be.
DATING BY THE BOOK by Marie Anne Marlowe
Six months ago, writer and bookstore owner Maddie Hanson was left at the altar. Since then, she’s had zero interest in romance—despite the fact that she runs a book club full of sexy eligible bachelors. But when her latest novel is panned by an anonymous blogger who goes by the name Silver Fox—and who accuses her of knowing nothing about passion—she decides to prove her nemesis wrong by seeking a romance hero in real life . . .
A lovely summer read
